Yogi Says … Help Me Fight For National Freedom & Social Justice For All!

The establishment parties are swimming in money. They all have wealthy backers. The NLP doesn’t. Help Yogi fight for National Freedom & Social Justice. All donations – big or small – are welcome.

“IT’S WELL KNOWN that ‘Big Money’ helps fund the establishment parties.  It also helps them fight their election campaigns.

The many links between the Tories and big business are well documented.  So are the financial links between Labour and the big unions.  Both the Tories and Labour seem to be swimming in money.

The Lib-Dems are not short of a few pounds either.  Indeed, earlier this year it was revealed that Lord Oakeshott will be giving £300,000 to Nick Clegg’s outfit.  And even smaller outfits like UKIP are well funded.  Richard Desmond – owner of the Daily Express – has pledged £300,000 to Nigel Farage’s party.

Sadly, I have no backers with deep pockets. My campaign will be run on a shoe-string.  This is both an advantage and a disadvantage.

However, what keeps me going is my belief that fighting for national freedom and social justice is simply the right thing to do.  I cannot stand aside and let the top 1% of society dictate what the rest of us should think or do.

The advantage of having no big business backers is that I’m a free man.  Those who rely on financial backers are at their beck and call.  They will say one thing and then do another.  I can promote my ideas without fear or favour.

Self-Determination is at the centre of my ideology. I think that it’s only right and proper that people should have the right to run their own nations as they see fit.  The right to self-determination is universal.  It applies to everyone – no matter what their race, ethnic backround, nationality or religion.

However, to achieve self-determination – to raise the public’s consciousness – I need to mount as effective an election campaign as is possible.  And this is where the lack of money really is a problem!

This really is a David and Goliath struggle. But sometimes the underdog can really shake up the system.  I’m fighting this election to gain experience, get the self-determinist message out and recruit for future battles.

If you’d like to help me fight for national freedom and social justice for all, please send a donation – no matter how big or small – via http://nationalliberal.org/the-party-organisation/donate (note Yogi as a reference), by cheque to NLP, c/o PO Box 4217, Hornchurch RM12 4PY, or pledge via natliberal@aol.com

All donations will be very much appreciated by both my front-line activists and myself.  We know that we face an uphill struggle but we’re determined to right for what is right.”

– Sockalingam ‘Yogi’ Yogalingam,

National Liberal Party prospective parliamentary candidate for Ruislip, Northwood & Pinner.

Jagdeesh Singh launches his campaign
.
General election candidate Jagdeesh Singh launches his campaign with the following statement:
.
JAGDEESH SINGH (National Liberal Party) is standing for the SOUTHALL parliamentary seat. Jagdeesh wants to give the grassroot communities of Southall – Sikhs, Tamils, Dalits, Kashmiris, Kurds, South Indians and more, RECOGNITION and a VOICE IN PARLIAMENT! The diverse communities of Southall have been taken for granted for far too long. The Labour party has treated Southall as a ‘safe’ seat, relying on the communities to blindly vote for them. HELP ME MAKE A POSITIVE change! On 7th May VOTE for someone who will fight for You in Southall and challenge the political establishment about recognition of these communities.
.
Jagdeesh was born in Southall and is closely connected to Southall. JAGDEESH SINGH is an active campaigner for justice for 30 years. He fought a 10 year campaign on his sisters murder case -SURJIT ATHWAL. He released incriminating documents in Jan 2014 on UK GOVT involvement in the 1984 Sikh Genocide. Jagdeesh is a fighter, not a career politician. He has invited Virendra Sharma MP (a keen supporter of INDIA) to an open, public debate on female oppression in India following the recent banned BBC documentary. In 2008 JAGDEESH was given the Stephen Lawrence Courage Award given his work against Honour killings. He stood on the NLP’s London list for the European Parliament last year.

RECOGNISING IDENTITY
.
Every ten years the Government holds a census to ascertain who lives in the UK and the composition of their background. One of the complaints was that the traditional nationalities of the UK were not recognised i.e. there was ‘White British’ but not ‘English’. After the Government census in 2001, English activists successfully campaigned for all the nations of the UK, rather than just British, to be represented in the next one in 2011. However, there are other communities in the country that are left unrecognised and lumped under generic terms e.g. Asian or where more specific base it upon states rather than peoples such as Indian or Pakistani. Clearly groups such as Sikhs, Tamils, Kashmiris or Kurds are left unrecognised.
.
Clearly, recognition of real and active communities, under the principles of Mandla v Dowell Lee (House of Lords, 1983), will provide an accurate, fair and just picture of their respective roles and needs in Britain. The on-going ‘ethnic monitoring’ and ‘equal opportunities’ monitoring system centrally and uniformly used by local and central government and public sector bodies (e.g. NHS, Police, education establishments) are still unrepresentative of the UK’s population. The current systems are narrow, constricted and exclusively limited to a handful of constricted ‘ethnic categories’, bearing no relationship to the actual population groups and do not comply with the legal definition of ethnic group as given in the landmark case of Mandla v Dowell Lee (House of Lords, 1983).
.
A report (authored by NLP NC member Jagdeesh Singh) on this failure of official censuses to record, for example, self-determinist communities e.g. counting Sikh as Indian, has been produced calling upon the Government to widen the descriptions of ethnic/national identity. It demands that the next Census (2021) and all government (central and local) and public sector services revise and revamp their monitoring systems to reflect Britain’s mix of real communities.

.
A new petition in support of this demand has been raised by NLP Leader Upkar Singh Rai (see and sign!)

Our Sikh partners (Kesri Lehar) launched the document and petition at a conference in London on 1st March.  Click HERE to download the report.

Building Our Media Infrastructure

The National Liberal Party is building the infrastructure of an alternative mass media of news, information and entertainment.

THE NATIONAL LIBERAL PARTY has several key strategies relating to its future political growth and success.

One of these strategies is to build the infrastructure of an alternative mass media of news, information and entertainment.

Although the NLP is still very much in the early stages of building its infrastructure, we’ve enjoyed some success here – particularly in the field of educational and outreach material. For instance we’ve established several different forms of publications that we publish. All are aimed at different sections of the general public.

In the future we aim to produce many more publications on a regular basis. Allied to these will be a host of social media sites (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and so on) which will help us build supporting communities around these publications.

Probably the most important publications are our local ones, Cuffley Courier and St. Andrews Voice. Both take the form of news and information sheets which are distributed free to local residents. The Cuffley Courier caters for the Northaw and Cuffley Parish Council (in Hertfordshire) whilst St. Andrews Voice circulates in a council ward in Havering, Essex.

The reason why local publications are so important is because they are local! As we’ve previously noted:

“This is because the vast majority of ordinary decent working folks have a ‘matter–of-fact’ attitude to politics (and especially local politics.) They are simply not interested in lofty concepts like National Freedom and Social Justice or Civil and Religious liberties for all.

Instead, they will support and vote for political parties who address local issues like bin collections, cracked paving stones, pot holes and the like.” (1)

We also produce two regional publications – the Isle of Wight Voice and Kent Voice – and two national publications – Caledonian Voice and English Voice. We hope to produce another national publication – Ulster Voice – in the not too distant future.

Liberty & Nation and New Horizon (the NLPs ideological magazine) are also in production. Indeed, we hope to have issue 3 (and our first hard copy) of Liberty & Nation out soon. (2)

In order to continue building our media infrastructure, we’ll soon be featuring – on this web-site – the lead articles from each of our publications. When they appear, we’d like all NLP members and supporters to help us bring these articels to an even wider audience by viralling them out via social media.

Although the articles will be dated to some extent, we’d appreciate any comments, observations or suggestions – good bad or indifferent. To submit your ideas simply look out for the relevant articles once they appear on the National Liberals facebook site https://www.facebook.com/groups/52739504313/?fref=nf and have your say in the comments section.

We intend to kick off this mini-series in a week or so – so keep your eyes peeled!
