THE PARTY ORGANISATION
The party’s official name is National Liberal Party – the third way. This is a reflection of being born out of the Third Way ‘Think Tank’ and our belief that we are an (and best!) alternative to the two main parties of left (Labour) and right (Conservative). We also believe the ideology of National Liberalism to be a more viable alternative to Socialism/Marxism and Capitalism.
At the head of the party is a National Executive. We also employ a National Secretary (Glen Maney) who helps look after enquirers, members and Representatives (see below).
Members receive a monthly bulletin named Thought & Action (named after Mazzini’s London based journal Pensiero e azione (1858)) and occasional magazines.
Being a new party we are in the early stage of development. Most members help promote the party on their own. This could include:
• Distributing leaflets door-to-door, libraries, student halls/clubs and anywhere they believe may be seen by ‘interested’ members of the public.
• Writing letters (in a private capacity) to their local press extolling the virtues of National Liberalism and the NLP.
• Support local community groups.
Some members have applied to be a Representative. These members will do all the above but will be allowed to write as an official representative and will be advised of new members/enquiries in their area. They will also be encouraged to stand for election in local council elections (help may be obtained from Central Office in Hornchurch)
A number of members and supporters can apply (to the Hornchurch PO Box) to become a Unit. They will be expected to distribute literature and stand in elections, hold meetings and/or socials.
