WHAT MUST BE DONE (6): Welcome to issue 6 of What Must Be Done, the publically-available organising bulletin of Nations without States. NwS supporters are asked to read – and more importantly – act upon the instructions detailed below:

• SELF-DETERMINATION DAY. On 22 May, elections will take place throughout the whole of the United Kingdom. Here, 73 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will be elected using a system of proportional representation. The National Liberal Party is standing eight candidates in London – they will be standing on a platform of Self-Determination For All!

With this in mind, we have dubbed the day of the vote ‘Self-Determination Day’ as it gives everyone who belongs to a captive nation (and who are currently living in London) the chance to send a message to Europe and the rest of the world that they want their freedom and self-determination!

What Must Be Done asks that all Self-Determinists should spread the word – tell others that to promote their national cause, they need to vote in large numbers (with other communities looking for freedom) in the European Parliamentary elections for the party list ‘National Liberal Party – Self-Determination For All!

• DONATE! We have eight brave candidates who are willing to stand up for their people and nations and demand Self-Determination For All! Are you willing to support them? Can you help us run a really effective campaign? We still need money to pay for the printing and delivery of a leaflet to at least a million homes in London. This will cost £6,500 (posted free via the Royal Mail).

From The Liberty Wall – 4WR – First 4WR E-Poster

THIS IS the very first e-poster – usually regarded as a ‘visual sound-bite’ – produced by 4WR. It’s been produced partly in response to John Papworth’s article Political Progress (which appeared in issue 154 of 4WR) which noted that we need to institute “a vast educational effort to resolve the multitudinous problems involved in the restructuring of power in society from the ground up rather than the top down.”

At the time we noted that 4WR was anxious to help promote this “vast educational effort” via a dual approach.

Firstly, we wanted “to produce a leaflet that’ll raise the existing profile of 4WR.

The number of magazines that seek change is becoming legion. We need to show that 4WR is radically different from the rest! We also need to win the battle of ideas! Thus we need to build the circulation of 4WR and promote an intellectual argument for our ideal of ‘Small is Beautiful!’

Secondly, we need to produce hundreds – if not thousands – of local publications which’ll help popularise our ideas. Therefore, we are looking for people who would be willing to help with the financing, writing, production and distribution of these newsletters.”

Whilst we’ve yet to produce our 4WR leaflet or local newsletter, we’ve made a very small step in the right direction in raising the profile (and promoting the message) of 4WR via the introduction of our Facebook page. You can find it at Facebook.com/Fourth World Review

Longer term projects include a 4WR web-site as well as internet-based TV and radio.

Until then we believe that we can promote John Papworth’s vision of a “vast educational effort” via imaginative and thought-provoking e-posters, such as the one pictured above.

From The Liberty Wall – Nations without States – Independence For Ulster?

WAYNE GILMOUR is a 19-year-old unemployed Protestant from North Belfast. At school he studied Irish history as well as British, Irish and American politics. It was during this period that he became interested in the concept of an independent Ulster and started to research the idea.

He thought that independence was – politically and morally – the most logical way forward. Indeed, he views it as the only way that there may ever be some form of normality in Ulster.

Wayne describes his own political outlook as “a strange mix of socialism and conservative views.” He believes that everyone has the right to express their ideas – so long as they don’t deny this same right to others.

This is his very first article promoting his personal ideas relating to an independent Ulster. He is more than happy to debate his views – and provide (a no-holds barred) young working-class Protestant view on current events in Ulster.

Independence For Ulster?

The Ulster Independence flag – more correctly known as the Second Ulster National flag - is generally flown by those who support the concept of ‘Ulster a Nation.’ They want their nation to stand on its own two feet, free from the shackles of both Westminster and Dublin.

IN ALL aspects – politically, socially and economically – Ulster has been broken for many years. This is because our liberties and identity have been stripped away because of the Government’s perverted policy of enforcing ‘equality.’ Normality isn’t an option as we’re still divided. The same old Orange and Green (1) format remains.

Therefore I believe the only way to ensure a viable existence beyond the old arguments is to develop an Ulster identity – and to fight for our right to be a nation.

I would still describe myself as a Unionist/Ulster Loyalist. I still believe in maintaining the link with the Crown. However I don’t believe in blind religious hate. Nor do I like to see Ulster having to pander to Westminster or Dublin when all decisions should be made in Belfast.

I want to see a new dawn rising over the land I love so much. I’d like to see the many of the Hoods (2) who sit in power removed. So what is this Ulster nation I speak of? I’d like to see:

• An independent state under the crown. It would have full powers over its own affairs

• A place where people regard themselves as Ulidian (3) as opposed to British or Irish

• A free society where there is civil and religious liberty for ALL

• A place where Terror doesn’t gain you political authority

• A place where a set of traditions and values are maintained allowing a people to live in peace and gain a sense of ‘belonging’

• Full governmental accountability

• Freedom to maintain our own laws free from Dublin/Westminster involvement

• Ending political policing and scrapping all forms of Religious ‘affirmative action.’

In my view, if an Ulster nation were to rise, it would see the death of militant Irish republicanism whilst making loyalism safe in its ‘own house.’ And this would slowly normalise politics within Ulster.

(1) In Ulster the colours ‘Orange’ and ‘Green’ are used to denote someone’s religion and politics. Orange generally refers to a Protestant whilst ‘Green’ is used to describe a Catholic.

(2) A ‘Hood’ refers to a criminal or a gangster.

(3) Ulster is referred to in many ancient texts as Uladh, Ulaid and Ulidia. Some Ulster patriots prefer to use the phrase ‘Ulidian’ when describing the people of their land.

From The Liberty Wall – Nations without States – Issues 3 & 4 Of Freedom On Their Way!

NATIONS WITHOUT STATES is moving up a gear by producing two issues of Freedom at the same time!

As our artwork notes, issue 3 will look at the Canary Isles whilst issue 4 will focus on the Rif. Both will be produced in pdf format. They can be pre-ordered now simply by e-mailing Nations without States nationswstates@aol.co.uk or contacting Graham Williamson via the NwS Facebook page.

Sadly, both the Canary Isles and the Rif are victims of European colonialism and imperialism.

The Canaries sit in the Atlantic Ocean and are around 60 miles from the northwest coast of mainland Africa. Despite this, they are ruled by Spain – which is nearly 1,500 miles away!

This came about when the Kings of both Castile and Aragon (part of modern day Spain) decided to invade the Islands. Here the local population – known as ‘Canarians’ – were either ethnically cleansed or sold as slaves. And as Freedom will note:

“The rest were forced to adopt European customs and accept the invaders as masters.”

Today, the Spanish Establishment regards the Canary Isles as an ‘autonomous community’ – like Catalonia.

However, this ‘autonomy’ is a joke. Canarians have no control over their land, waters or air space. Over 30% of the population is unemployed and all money goes to Madrid in Spain.

Freedom believes that it is the right of those who live in the Canaries to determine their own future. And if that means that they want independence from Spain, so be it!

The Rif – which is an ancient Berber land in the North West of Africa – has also suffered the consequences of Spanish imperialism. Indeed, although it is totally occupied by Morocco, two cities (Ceuta and Melilla) are under Spanish control!

Years ago, Spain ruled the whole area. The Rif War followed, with a brief period of freedom when the Rif Republic (1921-1927) was established.

Although Morocco became independent in 1956, Riffians still remain opposed to foreign rule. And attempts to draw attention to the plight of the indigenous population have been met with brutal force. But as long as this discrimination and repression continues, opposition to the system will continue. For its part, Freedom notes:

“All the Riffian people want is their land back – a land to call their own. We don’t think that’s too much to ask for. That’s why we say Freedom for the Rif!”

Both papers are scheduled to come out towards end of this month so keep your eyes peeled for futher details in the not too distant future!

Stand Up For Freedom

WAY BACK in June the National Liberal Party celebrated Magna Carta Day. As far as we’re aware, we’re the only political party that acknowledges the signing of the Magna Carta. Why is this?

The main reason is simple – we regard the Magna Carta as one of the most important documents ever produced which relate to freedom.

Indeed, in the UK, the signing of the Magna Carta document (798 years ago) by King John and his Barons represented the first time a Monarch accepted that he/she had responsibilities and their ‘subjects’ had rights.

As the protection of a citizen’s Civil and Religious Liberties is one of our core principles, it’s vital that we remember this vital document. And we’d encourage everyone who supports these freedoms to join or support the National Liberal Party. We feel that our unique fusion of two great political progressive tendancies – Nationalism and Liberalism – will be to your liking.

On saying this, we understand that whilst everyone is interested in freedom, not everyone is interested in party politics. However you can still do your bit for freedom by supporting one of these single-issue groups who appear on our Liberty Wall:

From The Liberty Wall – St. George’s Committee Debate (2) – Why Does The Establishment Hate The English?

THE ENGLISH are second class citizens in their own country! That’s the opinion of many English advocates who also claim that England and the English are routinely discriminated against by the Establishment.

For instance, the English are discriminated against because England has no Parliament of its own. A measure of devolution has given the Scots a Parliament in Edinburgh, Ulsterfolk have the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont and the Welsh have the National Assembly in Cardiff. The English have nothing!

Whilst Scotland, Ulster and Wales all have some form of ‘Home Rule’, England is saddled with Westminster. Although it’s situated in London, there’s no way on this earth that it can be described as an English parliament! (Indeed, some English advocates would claim that, at best, Westminster is a rich man’s playground – at worst it’s full of scroungers, crooks and wide boys.)

The English are also discriminated against as ‘English’ isn’t on ethnic monitoring forms. It appears that everyone under the sun is allowed to state their ethnicity (as is their right) except the English!

This discrimination continues when English advocates air their wishes, needs, concerns and cultural sensitivities – for instance, St. George’s Day is still not an official holiday. Here, the English are either simply ignored or routinely smeared as ‘racists’, ‘fascists’ or whatever.

English advocates would have some justification in claiming that the Establishment has no interest in England or the English and is deeply Anglophobic. So our question is simple: Why Does The Establishment Hate The English?
