From The Liberty Wall – Nations without States – Issues 3 & 4 Of Freedom On Their Way!

NATIONS WITHOUT STATES is moving up a gear by producing two issues of Freedom at the same time!

As our artwork notes, issue 3 will look at the Canary Isles whilst issue 4 will focus on the Rif. Both will be produced in pdf format. They can be pre-ordered now simply by e-mailing Nations without States nationswstates@aol.co.uk or contacting Graham Williamson via the NwS Facebook page.

Sadly, both the Canary Isles and the Rif are victims of European colonialism and imperialism.

The Canaries sit in the Atlantic Ocean and are around 60 miles from the northwest coast of mainland Africa. Despite this, they are ruled by Spain – which is nearly 1,500 miles away!

This came about when the Kings of both Castile and Aragon (part of modern day Spain) decided to invade the Islands. Here the local population – known as ‘Canarians’ – were either ethnically cleansed or sold as slaves. And as Freedom will note:

“The rest were forced to adopt European customs and accept the invaders as masters.”

Today, the Spanish Establishment regards the Canary Isles as an ‘autonomous community’ – like Catalonia.

However, this ‘autonomy’ is a joke. Canarians have no control over their land, waters or air space. Over 30% of the population is unemployed and all money goes to Madrid in Spain.

Freedom believes that it is the right of those who live in the Canaries to determine their own future. And if that means that they want independence from Spain, so be it!

The Rif – which is an ancient Berber land in the North West of Africa – has also suffered the consequences of Spanish imperialism. Indeed, although it is totally occupied by Morocco, two cities (Ceuta and Melilla) are under Spanish control!

Years ago, Spain ruled the whole area. The Rif War followed, with a brief period of freedom when the Rif Republic (1921-1927) was established.

Although Morocco became independent in 1956, Riffians still remain opposed to foreign rule. And attempts to draw attention to the plight of the indigenous population have been met with brutal force. But as long as this discrimination and repression continues, opposition to the system will continue. For its part, Freedom notes:

“All the Riffian people want is their land back – a land to call their own. We don’t think that’s too much to ask for. That’s why we say Freedom for the Rif!”

Both papers are scheduled to come out towards end of this month so keep your eyes peeled for futher details in the not too distant future!

Stand Up For Freedom

WAY BACK in June the National Liberal Party celebrated Magna Carta Day. As far as we’re aware, we’re the only political party that acknowledges the signing of the Magna Carta. Why is this?

The main reason is simple – we regard the Magna Carta as one of the most important documents ever produced which relate to freedom.

Indeed, in the UK, the signing of the Magna Carta document (798 years ago) by King John and his Barons represented the first time a Monarch accepted that he/she had responsibilities and their ‘subjects’ had rights.

As the protection of a citizen’s Civil and Religious Liberties is one of our core principles, it’s vital that we remember this vital document. And we’d encourage everyone who supports these freedoms to join or support the National Liberal Party. We feel that our unique fusion of two great political progressive tendancies – Nationalism and Liberalism – will be to your liking.

On saying this, we understand that whilst everyone is interested in freedom, not everyone is interested in party politics. However you can still do your bit for freedom by supporting one of these single-issue groups who appear on our Liberty Wall:

From The Liberty Wall – St. George’s Committee Debate (2) – Why Does The Establishment Hate The English?
THE ENGLISH are second class citizens in their own country! That’s the opinion of many English advocates who also claim that England and the English are routinely discriminated against by the Establishment.

For instance, the English are discriminated against because England has no Parliament of its own. A measure of devolution has given the Scots a Parliament in Edinburgh, Ulsterfolk have the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont and the Welsh have the National Assembly in Cardiff. The English have nothing!

Whilst Scotland, Ulster and Wales all have some form of ‘Home Rule’, England is saddled with Westminster. Although it’s situated in London, there’s no way on this earth that it can be described as an English parliament! (Indeed, some English advocates would claim that, at best, Westminster is a rich man’s playground – at worst it’s full of scroungers, crooks and wide boys.)

The English are also discriminated against as ‘English’ isn’t on ethnic monitoring forms. It appears that everyone under the sun is allowed to state their ethnicity (as is their right) except the English!

This discrimination continues when English advocates air their wishes, needs, concerns and cultural sensitivities – for instance, St. George’s Day is still not an official holiday. Here, the English are either simply ignored or routinely smeared as ‘racists’, ‘fascists’ or whatever.

English advocates would have some justification in claiming that the Establishment has no interest in England or the English and is deeply Anglophobic. So our question is simple: Why Does The Establishment Hate The English?

The debate will be held on the St. George’s Committee facebook page https://www.facebook.com/stgeorgescommittee?fref=ts

From The Liberty Wall – 4WR Debate (1) – Who Should We Talk To – And Why?

Recent issues of 4WR. Who should we interview in issue 156?

FOURTH WORLD REVIEW (4WR) has a long and proven track record of speaking to a variety of anti-establishment groups and individuals. These have included both ‘controversial’ and mainstream groups and individuals. As we’re fairly libertarian in outlook we’ve no interest in the political labels of those we talk to or interview – in fact, 4WR feels that many of these political labels are largely outdated. Our view is that we’ll talk to anyone who has something interesting to say.

Indeed, in the last few issues of 4WR we’ve spoken to English eco-nationalist, Tim Bragg, Peter Challen of the Christian Council For Monetary Justice, the anti-EU activist, Dr. Vernon Coleman, Henry Law of the Land Value Taxation Campaign, prominent British libertarian, Sean Gabb, and Left-Libertarian Professor Hillel Steiner.

One of the main reasons for talking to so many different groups and individuals is that we hope to open a dialogue between all those opposed to gigantism in all spheres of human activity (and especially those opposed to Empires and Superstates, massive and unwieldy bureaucratic governments, trans-national corporations and the like.) Additionally, instead of talking at each other, various ‘dissidents’ should be talking to each other.

With this in mind, the Joint Editors of 4WR – Wayne John Sturgeon and Graham Williamson – have a list of ‘dissidents’ who they’d like to interview for (or feature in) future issues. However, they’re keen for 4WR readers to suggest who else should be considered – and debate why they should be featured.

The debate will be held on the Fourth World Review facebook page:

From The Liberty Wall – National Liberal Trade Unionists Debate (2) – What Should Be Re-Nationalised?

As well as trade unionists, pressure groups like Bring Back British Rail want to re-nationalise the railway system. Check out their web-site: http://www.bringbackbritishrail.org/

IN AN AGE where it seems that many activities are

economically constructed to benefit the private sector, many trade unionists are talking about re-nationalising public services such as the railways.

Here, they point to the current system where senior managers make millions out of bids, and where we have the absurdity of different companies charging different amounts for the same route at different times of day. For many trade unionists, the day British Rail makes a reappearance can’t come too soon!

As well as looking at transport, some trade unionists argue that even energy companies should be nationalised. Here they believe that nationalization is necessary because of the inefficiency and profiteering involved. Trade unionists believe that instead of profits going to shareholders, consumers should benefit instead. This can be done via price reductions, which in turn would alleviate poverty throughout Britain.

So the question to be debated is simple – what should be re-nationalised?

From The Liberaty Wall – Nations without States – Issue 2 Of Nation Out Now!

WE RECENTLY noted that a new issue of Nation – the Newsletter of Nations without States – was in the pipeline (1). Now the Organising Committee of NwS (Doris Jones, Jagdeesh Singh, Graham Williamson and Sockalingam Yogalingam) are happy to announce that issue 2 is now out.

One striking feature of this issue of Nation is its artwork. This prominently features a black flag, a symbol which NwS has previously used to represent those activists and innocent civilians who have been – and who still are being – killed, ‘disappeared’ or tortured by various oppressive regimes around the world. This artwork has been used as a mark of respect to both honour their memory and mourn their loss.

However, whilst it’s vitally important to remember those who have been killed (‘the fallen’) it’s up to those who are left (‘the free’) to continue the fight for self-determination for all of our nations.

In order to do this, it outlines four areas where NwS can build different forms of counter power. Here we want to create a parallel system that belongs to self-determinists and not our oppressors.

According to Nation, the four areas to be developed are:

“Build the infrastructure of an alternative mass media of news and entertainment. We’ve made a couple of small steps in the right direction here with the publication of Nation and our street paper Freedom, and the establishment of our Facebook site.

Build both a cultural and counter-cultural movement that’ll provide positive alternatives – especially for our youth – to globalism and modern consumer culture, which is designed to reduce everybody to the lowest common level by abolishing all inherited cultures and identities.

Build a social support network that can provide help, solidarity and humanitarian aid for our peoples both here and abroad.

Build a political movement that engages with various self-determinists with the aim of creating a whole new voting demographic.”

Now that this new issue of Nation is out, it’s vital to get it to as many activists as possible. If you belong to a self-determinist group (or are just an individual who desires some form of ‘Home Rule’ for your nation and your people) and wish to distribute Nation at your demonstrations, meetings or days of action, simply contact Graham Williamson via the NwS Facebook page or e-mail Nations without States: nationswstates@aol.co,uk
