Liberal Future
.
.
Are you under 30 and want to get your voice heard? Then Liberal Future is the place for you!

Liberal Future – the youth wing of the National Liberal Party – has established a political forum for liberal young adults to discuss issues such as self determination and liberty.

So what are we all about?

First of all, Liberal Future (LF) is neither ‘left wing’ nor ‘right wing’ – indeed our political position goes way beyond these tired old positions. Nor are we capitalists or socialists, which we feel are merely different sides of the same coin.

Our raison d’etre can be summed up in the slogan Self-Determination For All! And Self-Determination can be applied largely in three areas: National, Political and Economic.

With this in mind, Liberal Future favours a system of small government based on true and direct democracy. The National Liberal Party’s Statement of Principles notes that “the personal liberty of a nation’s citizens is vital.” Thus LF believes that governments should devolve power, wealth and arms down to the lowest possible common denominator – much in the same way that Switzerland does.

Our initial aim is to build a powerful overall youth movement. We can then look at creating specific groups within LF – including students and young trade unionists. Therefore, we want to attract dedicated, serious, high-calibre youngsters of good character. This is because LF wishes to engage in constructive political, cultural and community-based work. We’re definitely not infantile tactics which involve chanting inane slogans over and over again or trying to restrict the free speech of others.
