Upkar Says … If You Live In The London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley and Brent … SHOP LOCAL!

MEMBERS and supporters of the National Liberal Party will be aware that Upkar Singh Rai is the NLP prospective candidate for 2016 London Mayor.

As part of his campaign Upkar – who is campaigning on a ‘Quality of Life’ ticket – is keen to stress his belief that London is rapidly becoming un-sustainable in terms of physical size and population growth.  In contrast to the lunacy of unrestricted growth, Upkar believes that ‘Small is Beautiful!’

One way of promoting London on a ‘human scale’ is to support local shops, small businesses and the self-employed across the capital.  The above e-poster is the first in a series doing just that.

However, we need to do much more than just produce e-posters.

We must ensure that Upkar is able to stand for Mayor of London so that he can promote our message directly to all 3.5 million households.  You can do this in two easy ways – by sponsoring or donating.

The NLP has set up two funds, a Sponsorship Fund (to pay the £20,000 deposit) and a Fighting Fund (for flyers and posters etc).

If you want to pledge (£100 plus) to the Sponsorship Fund please e-mail

If you wish to donate to the Fighting Fund please go to or transfer to the Bank of Scotland, NLP, 12-11-03, 06186181, or Cheques can be mailed to the National Liberal Party, PO Box 4217, Hornchurch, Essex RM12 4PJ.

•  IF YOU live – or have any contacts – in the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley and Brent, please ‘Like & Share’ this e-poster on Facebook or Tweet its link via Twitter.  Ask your family, friends, neighbours and workmates to do the same.  Please use any of the following Hashtags:
