NATIONS WITHOUT STATES CAMPAIGN!
.
In the 19th century, when much of Europe was ruled by Monarchs and Empires, dissenters believed in extending power to the national citizenry. The leading advocates were (national) liberals.
In 1918 near the end of the WW1 the President of the USA, Woodrow Wilson, called upon the world to implement self-determination, especially for those trapped within European Empires.
At the end of the 2WW the United Nations’ was formed. In Article 1, the principle of self-determination was elevated to a human right, especially those trapped within Colonial Empires. Yet today there are countless nations still waiting to be recognised let alone allowed to exercise their right to self-determination.
We need, more than ever, to (re)promote the principle of self-determination to provoke discussion and, once again, convince the public and international diplomats to adopt and implement that principle.
