From The Liberty Wall – Free Speech: How Do We Protect It? 15th June – Happy Magna Carta Day!
.
FREE SPEECH believes that Britain should have a formal constitution and bill of rights, based on the concept of civil and religious liberties for all. It also feels that a civil rights watchdog should be established to protect the people’s ability to make use of these rights.
Free Speech believes in absolute free speech with very few exceptions to this rule – say for those who promote violence. Free Speech notes that:
.
‘Either we all have rights – or none of us has rights. We support civil and religious liberties for all.’
.
Earlier this month it posted up the above artwork to both remember and promote Magna Carta Day. In doing so, Free Speech posed the question:
.
‘The signing of the Magna Carta (in Runnymede, Surrey, England on 15th June 1215) is one of the most important events to be celebrated by Free Speech advocates.
But what others are there?’
