Statement from the National Council:
.

PROFILING SELF-DETERMINATION OUR FIRST GOAL

The National Liberal Party’s prime reason for standing in the European elections was to profile the principle of, and highlight the specific causes of, Self-Determination. We believe we achieved that goal, as a first start, through the delivery of one million leaflets throughout London that focused on introducing activists stories to would be readers. Most of our material was designed with this aim in mind. Most of these readers will have beforehand have never of heard of the causes, the problems and suffering involved, or even of the existence of such peoples! Indeed we sacrificed votes for awareness as awareness is the first step in the long road to freedom. We would like to thank all of the donors, large and small, who made this happen. Self-determination for all!

Statement on behalf of the National Council

Well the European elections are over. Whilst we didn’t garner the votes (6,763) in the London Region that we would have liked/expected, we were ‘winners’ because we have brought the cause of self-determination to (some of) the public’s attention. One million leaflets were distributed to Londoners, most of whom will not have been self-determinists, and will have been exposed to the plight of oppressed peoples for the first time. We must continue to profile these causes which after all was the reason we stood in the elections in the first place.

Unfortunately, the media largely ignored us but that should never stop us doing the right thing. Whilst elections are popularity contests, our cause(s) are too important to worry about being ‘popular’ or not. As an aside however a number of our members and supporters were elected to local council standing under the banner of allied independent groups.

We would personally like to thank all our candidates for standing up to be counted and our small band of activists that worked very hard on our campaign. You can be assured that we have lots of exciting plans in the pipeline. Watch this space!

NLP European-Election Manifesto: Section 3
THE National Liberal Party is not interested in ‘gesture politics.’ This is a futile position adopted by groups on both the ‘left’ and ‘right.’ It consists of screaming, shouting and macho–posturing. Normally groups who follow this line are more interested in ‘hitting the headlines’ than actually following a strategy of careful thought and action.

But how do we encourage and promote this strategy of careful thought and action? We feel that only way is to engage in rational debate, constructive critiscm and to encourage feedback – good, bad or indifferent.

That’s one of the reasons why we’re reproducing – in ‘bite size’ pieces – the NLPs Manifesto for the fothcoming European-Elections. It calls for Self-Determination For All! and is a revolutionary document as it calls for national freedom and social justice for all oppressed nations.

We’ve already reproduced the first and second sections. Here’s the third section:

What do we hope to achieve?

Firstly, we wish to restore the principle of self-determination back to its premier position that it held in the early part of the 20th century.

Self-determination’ is not a mere phrase, it is an imperative principle of action which statesmen will henceforth ignore at their peril.”

– Woodrow Wilson US President (Feb. 1918)

Secondly, we will provide a platform for the various causes struggling for self-determination to bring their plight to the attention of the Capitals large population.

Thirdly, we hope to elect at least one MEP who will act as the voice of the self-determinist Diasporas in the European Parliament.

All candidates, if elected to the European Parliament, pledge the following:

Firstly, to be the VOICE of London’s self-determinist Diaspora’s by providing a platform for and to support where possible ALL self-determinist struggles regardless of their personal cause.

Secondly, in following the NATIONAL LIBERAL PARTY’S support for Swiss-style referendums in the UK, will endeavour to gauge the views of its voters through the use of voting banks via internet petitions and social media. The results will help dictate how an MEP will vote on non-self-determinist issues in the European Parliament.

Thirdly, a proportion of an MEP’s salary would be redistributed to ‘good causes’.

HISTORY IN YOUR HANDS!

This Thursday (May 22nd) you have a chance of making history by voting for self-determination. This is why we call the day – Self-Determination Day!

If we can obtain over 200,000 votes you can elect an MEP to the European Parliament to take your/others national causes to a new level.

For the first time self-determinists are working together because there is strength in unity and whilst one group of Diasporas is not strong enough to make a difference on their own, the many are.

Despite our limited resources and inexperience our campaign has been a refreshing change to the establishment’s usual policies of smear and blame. In this election we stand for the principle of self-determination, nothing less nothing more. Furthermore, if elected we will be taking a team of eight to Brussels to research, lobby and raise everyone’s profile without fear or favour.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Vote National Liberal Party-Self-determination for all! on May 22nd. Future generations depend on it!

Self-Determination For All! – Self-Determinists Unite!
THE NATIONAL LIBERAL PARTY is using the forthcoming European Elections as a platform to promote the concept of Self-Determination For All!

As Self-Determination is a universal human right, our eight brave candidates represent different racial, ethnic, national and religious groupings. Indeed, our Euro-campaign represents a practical demonstration of the slogan Unity through Diversity!

In this brief mini-series, we’re featuring our eight London-Region Euro Candidates. We’ve already looked at Dr Yussef Anwar, Bernard Dube, Doris Jones, Upkar Singh Rai, Jagdeesh Singh, Sockalingam Yogalingam and Graham Williamson. Last – but not least – is Araz Yurdseven, who is representing the South Azerbaijani Turk community.

South Azerbaijani Turks live in northern Iran but their identity is not recognised by the dominant Persian nation.

Further north lies the country of Azerbaijan which broke free from Russian control when the Soviet Empire collapsed. Their countrymen in Iran would like to be independent too but instead Azerbaijanis are imprisoned or worse.

Other Turkic peoples are also denied their right of self-determination elsewhere e.g the Uyghur people of China. I am calling upon all Turkic peoples in London to raise their voice by voting for NLP.

Araz Yurdseven,
representing the South Azerbaijani Turk community
