Members of the National Liberal Party and English Green (ecological pressure group) ran a stall recently at a meeting concerning the Constitution and discussing how aspects of common law (including – innocent until proved guilty, Habeas Corpus – no detention without charge/trial – and the Jury system) are being ignored and have become superseded by a corporate legal system and, lately, a move towards introducing elements of Continental Civil Law (guilty until proven innocent, no Hab Corpus and politically appointed judges rather than juries). As liberty lovers, these aspects of our society concern us and we support those who are trying to protect our fundamental rights that, it seems, some governments and bureaucracies cannot resist (trying to) remove!

Activists handed out NLP and EG leaflets, signed up subscribers to the forthcoming 4WR magazine (which we have helped produce) and sold copies of the seminal booklet ‘A Declaration of Progressive Nationalism’ by T.Bragg & G. Williamson.
