Building Our Local Media
THE NATIONAL LIBERAL PARTY is building the infrastructure of an alternative mass media of news, views and entertainment.

To this end we’ve produced UK-wide publications as well as national, regional and local publications. Some have been hard copies which are distributed at demonstrations, pickets, meetings or on a door-to-door basis. All are also available in pdf format which means that they can be distributed on line.

To date we’ve produced – in alphabetical order – the following titles: Caledonian Voice, Cuffley Courier (Hertfordshire), English Voice, Isle of Wight Voice, Kent Voice, Liberal Worker, Liberty & Nation, St. Andrews Voice (Havering) and New Horizon, our ideological journal.

It’s taken a huge effort to get this far. However, our alternative media is growing – albeit slowly and organically.

But now we want to move up a gear and produce even more.

We want to expand our alternative media so that we produce a Voice for every county, city and town in Britain. That’s a tall order – so how do we hope to achieve this?

First of all, we have to understand that – at this stage in the development of our media – we’re only be looking for very special people. As we’ve noted before, they’ll likely to be fairly quiet and thoughtful people. They’ll look way beyond the bluster and headlines (that passes for politics these days) and will examine cold hard facts and figures. They’ll also be free-thinkers and non-conformists.

These people will also understand that, to build our new media, they’ll need to operate as a ‘vanguard’ or ‘cadre’ does. That is to say that they’ll be dedicated to the task in hand. We don’t need ‘hobbyists’ or ‘talkers’ to produce and distribute our media. We need people who will do things.

So how do we reach – and recruit – these very special people?

We intend to produce a series of e-posters highlighting issues that relate to different areas. We will then viral out these e-posters via social media. In effect we’ll be spreading our educational and outreach seeds everywhere and from what sprouts we’ll pick our quality recruits from it.

With a sound understanding of National Liberalism they’ll be integrated with our current media team to produce publications for their area. Hopefully, their labours will produce more fruit in terms of quality recruits.

Our first new e-poster will be produced on behalf of Essex Voice and should be available within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, anyone who fancies getting involved in the production of our alternative media should contact nationalliberal@aol.com as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.
