Free Speech!

.

“WE BELIEVE that Britain should have a formal constitution and bill of rights, based on the concept of civil and religious liberties for all.  We also feel that a civil rights watchdog should be established to protect the people’s ability to make use of these rights.

We believe in absolute free speech with very few exceptions to this rule – say for those who promote violence.  Either we all have rights – or none of us has rights.  We support civil and religious liberties for all.”

– THAT’S the description of the relatively new Facebook group known as FREE SPEECH – Civil & Religious Liberties For All.

Altough initiated by members and supporters of the National Liberal Party, the Free Speech group is open to all those who want to promote, protect and preserve civil and religious liberties for all.

Guidelines exist in respect of posting on the site.

First and formost is the requirement that those who post “should be polite to each other and respect another persons point of view – even if they disagree with it!  Free speech is one thing, personal attacks are another thing completely.  Maybe this could be best summed up by the saying ‘say what you think – but think what you say.’”

Additionally, all posts should have some connection to civil and religious liberties and “of particular interest are articles which show elements of the State trying to curtail free speech and so on.”
