JOIN THE MAGNA CARTA MONEYBOMB ON JUNE 15TH!

COALITION FALLS AT

FIRST HURDLE!
Despite promises to abandon the last Government’s attacks on civil liberties the Coalition has now confirmed that it will still introduce a controversial database of everyone’s personal health records!
Critics claim that the database is too expensive, vulnerable to breaches of security (will possibly be handled by a company in India), too hard to opt-out (hoping you won’t bother) and potentially available to a variety of bodies and individuals.
Alex Deane, director of Big Brother Watch, said patients should be told the truth about its drawbacks and, like ID cards, it should be scrapped. He said: “This is a disgraceful U-turn by the coalition. The Government wants us to believe that they are serious about privacy and civil liberties  –  this is their first test and they have failed it”.
HONOUR THEIR PROMISES

Such a U-turn highlights why we must remain vigilant and continue campaigning to roll back the state less we find the new Government decide their inherited powers are too useful to surrender!

Help us keep up the pressure on this Government to honour their promises by producing leaflets, e-mail campaigns, adverts and demos.
YOU can help us do this by taking part in our Magna Carta Money bomb on June 15th by going to http://www.15thjunemagnacarta.org to make your donation.

CELEBRATE MAGNA CARTA DAY – WEAR ORANGE!

In the 13th century England the Monarchy reigned supreme. However on June 15th in 1215 King John was forced to sign the Magna Carta document at Runnymede. This was the first official recognition that some of the King’s subjects had individual rights.
We shall be celebrating Magna Carta Day (June 15th) as our LIBERTY DAY. As with the demands in the 1990’s for freedom from one-party dictatorships in Eastern Europe we have adopted ORANGE to represent LIBERTY’S colours. We urge all LIBERTY LOVERS to wear orange (clothing, badge or ribbon) on the 15th!
We will also call for Magna Carta Day to be made a public holiday (we only get 8 days compared to France who get 10) to celebrate our countries commitment to LIBERTY.

Help the National Liberal Party not only to campaign against a ‘Big-Brother’ state but to help roll back state interference in our private affairs!
